Essex 11+ Maths Practice — Privacy Policy

Essex 11+ Maths Practice provides practice questions and mock exam papers to help children prepare for the CSSE 11+ maths entrance exam. It's intended for children roughly aged 9–11, used under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

The account holder is always the parent or guardian, not the child. When an account is created, the person creating it confirms they are the parent or guardian of the child who will use it, and that they are agreeing to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service on the child's behalf. The child uses the account under that person's supervision.

• Account details — email address, and a password if not signing in with Google
• Profile details— display name, chosen avatar, year group, target school (optional beyond what's needed to create an account)
• Learning activity — questions and papers attempted, answers given, whether they were correct, time spent, progress through topics and papers, streak and achievement data
• Content reports — if a question is flagged as having a problem, we store the report and any note added
• Payment status — whether the account is on the free, monthly, or lifetime plan, and identifiers from our payment provider (Stripe) needed to manage a subscription. We never see or store card details — Stripe handles these directly.

We don't collect more than is needed to run the service, and we don't ask for anything about the child beyond what's needed to track their own learning progress on the site.

We use this data to:

• create and run accounts
• track learning progress and highlight topics that need more practice
• process payments and manage subscriptions
• respond to support requests and content reports
• keep the service secure and working properly

We do not use this data, or a child's data, for advertising, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Essex 11+ Maths Practice includes streaks, achievement badges, and progress tracking. These are designed to encourage consistent, spaced-out study — a genuinely useful habit for exam preparation — not to maximise how long a child spends on the site or how often they return for its own sake.

We use a small number of trusted providers to run Essex 11+ Maths Practice:

• Supabase — stores account and learning data, and handles sign-in
• Google— only if “Sign in with Google” is used, to confirm identity
• Stripe — processes payment; card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our own systems
• Vercel — hosts the website itself

These providers only receive what's needed to perform their specific function and aren't permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside the UK or EEA. Where this happens, we rely on their compliance with recognised data protection safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep account and learning data for as long as an account is active. If an account is deleted, personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep certain records for longer (for example, financial records for tax purposes).

You have the right to:

• ask what data we hold about you or your child
• ask us to correct inaccurate data
• ask us to delete your data (an account can also be deleted directly from the Profile page at any time)
• ask us to restrict or object to certain processing
• receive a copy of your data in a portable format
• complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data

We only use essential cookies — for staying signed in and processing payments. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect data, including encrypted storage and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information held on the service.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let users know by email or via a notice on the site.
